About The Position

The Project Manager, Transition Operations and Development provides leadership and coordination for the planning, execution, and stabilization of physician practice transitions and operational development initiatives across Baptist Medical Group. This role is responsible for managing cross-functional integration efforts to ensure newly acquired, employed, or restructured physician practices are effectively transitioned into Baptist Medical Group’s operational, clinical, financial, and cultural framework. The position serves as a central project lead, working collaboratively with physician leadership, medical staff, and shared services teams to align transition activities with organizational strategy, regulatory requirements, and the mission of a not-for-profit health system.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in physician practice operations, health system project management, or practice integration.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Finance, Nursing, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of physician practice operations, revenue cycle, EMR/IT, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Leads end-to-end transition planning and execution for physician practice acquisitions, employment conversions, consolidations, and restructures.
  • Develops and manages detailed transition plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Serves as the primary coordination point between physician practices and shared services teams.
  • Coordinates integration across Risk Management, Medical Staff Services, Revenue Cycle, EMR and IT, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Facilities, Materials Management, Clinic Operations, and Ancillary Services.
  • Ensures accountability, alignment, and timely execution across departments.
  • Works closely with physicians and practice leadership to assess readiness and integration needs.
  • Facilitates communication, change management, and issue resolution to support physician satisfaction and retention.
  • Supports identification and mitigation of operational, financial, and compliance risks.
  • Ensures alignment with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements applicable to a not-for profit health system.
  • Partners with Finance and Revenue Cycle teams to support financial stabilization.
  • Monitors performance indicators and supports post-transition improvement initiatives.
  • Utilizes structured project management methodologies.
  • Prepares executive status updates, dashboards, and summaries.
  • Performs other duties as assigned in support of Baptist Medical Group’s mission.
