About The Position

The Manager, Project Management is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of pavement projects across a large portfolio of assets. This role manages asphalt paving, pavement preservation, rehabilitation, and capital improvement projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards. The manager coordinates contractors, consultants, and stakeholders, while managing project budgets, scopes, schedules, and compliance requirements. Through proactive asset management, data-driven decision making, and continuous improvement initiatives, this position enhances pavement performance, extends asset life, and delivers cost-effective solutions that support operational objectives and customer satisfaction. Walmart’s Pavement Team manages pavement assets and delivers paving projects across stores, clubs, and distribution centers. The team collaborates with Operations, Real Estate, Facility Services, contractors, and consultants to execute asphalt paving, concrete repairs, pavement preservation, and capital improvements. Focused on asset lifecycle management, quality, safety, and cost stewardship, the team uses data, field assessments, and industry best practices to prioritize investments and maximize pavement performance. Through collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement, the team delivers sustainable, high-quality solutions that support a safe and seamless experience for customers and associates.

Requirements

  • Experience managing pavement, construction, facilities, or infrastructure projects across multiple locations.
  • Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, scope development, and risk mitigation.
  • Knowledge of construction means and methods, project delivery practices, quality control procedures, contractor management, and construction sequencing.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions that optimize asset performance and investment strategies.
  • Experience managing consultants, contractors, and vendor relationships.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to lead projects in a fast-paced environment while driving results, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field and 2 years’ experience in facilities management, construction management, engineering, or related area OR 4 years’ experience in facilities management, construction management, engineering, or related area.

Responsibilities

  • Manage pavement capital and maintenance projects from planning through completion across Walmart and Sam's facilities.
  • Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and funding plans to support asset management objectives.
  • Oversee asphalt paving, concrete repairs, rehabilitation, and preservation programs.
  • Partner with Operations, Finance, Facility Services, and external vendors to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Manage consultants and contractors, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and company standards.
  • Utilize pavement condition data to prioritize investments and maximize asset life.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive continuous process improvements.
  • Monitor project performance, mitigate risks, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
