This role is within the Project Leadership Office (PLO) at the St Joseph Tech Center in Michigan, USA, focusing on project and program leadership for new product development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Administration.
  • 3 - 5 years of proven program and project management experience of increasing size and scope (scope, time, cost, quality, communications, stakeholder and risk management working on global and/or domestic projects).

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree (Preferred).
  • Multilingual capabilities (welcome due to work with different regions like Mexico, India, Brazil, China, Italy).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification and/or Disciplined Agile Scrum Master (DASM) Certification.
  • 1 - 5 years of experience in Consumer/Durable Goods Sector Product Development.
  • Experience in the Home Appliance industry, and in Cooking / Dishwashing.
  • Financial planning, analysis, and capital investment management.

Responsibilities

  • Delivery of new product development projects and derivative models approved in the platform planning phase, including KPIs monthly.
  • Lead the project team through all project phases: Initiation, Planning, Control & Monitoring, Execution, and Closure.
  • Work on projects using the Whirlpool Product Development (WPD) System/Methodology for Production Development Projects (PDP).
  • Provide recommendations for all gate approvals.
  • Collect project requirements from stakeholders and manage trade-offs to meet project goals.
  • Act as the central point of contact for the project, conducting meetings, integration events, status reports, and gate approvals at all organizational levels.
  • Embed Project Management and WPD system tools, techniques, and practices within the PLO community and project teams.
  • Manage projects across all knowledge areas: Integration, Scope, Time, Cost, Quality, Human Resources, Communications, Risk, Procurement, and Stakeholder Management.
  • Manage global cross-functional teams to deliver new product development projects on a regional and/or global scale, from concept to final implementation and release.
  • Motivate cross-functional teams to collaborate on achieving platform goals.
  • Manage risks by developing plans to avoid, mitigate, transfer, accept, or explore them with the project team.
  • Drive issue resolution.
  • Manage changes by guiding the team through requests, impact analysis, and go/no-go decisions.
  • Manage data in multiple systems to report KPIs monthly, provide component part tracking status, and facilitate communication between core team members.
  • Drive capital calendar and project expenses planning and execution, overseeing spending and monthly outlook status.
  • Travel to key manufacturing sites (NAR), especially during project launch periods (3-5 days per month on average).
