Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Civil or Electrical).
  • Minimum 5+ Years previous experience in capital project delivery in industrial or manufacturing facilities.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Previous experience on projects or multiple projects > $10MM
  • Capital Project Management Experience in Pharma manufacturing facilities, such as: Bulk API, Dry products, Sterile products, Devices, Utilities, and to a lesser extent Lab projects.
  • Experience in the following areas: GMP manufacturing, LEAN, C&Q, Automation, construction, construction quality, project controls, engineering disciplines, safety, scheduling.
  • Teamwork oriented, good interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Candidate must have a strong compliance mindset and sound judgment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under minimum supervision.
  • The capacity to achieve results and influence through people is critical.
  • Must exhibit a good sense of judgment in decision making, without the need for management approval while at the same time keeping management informed and engaged on critical issues.
  • Ability to influence personnel and organizations without having direct administrative responsibility for them.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent technical certification, preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead capital project management delivery for new equipment and facilities including project scope development & profiling, business case evaluation, project cost estimate, design development, equipment purchasing, installation, qualification, and validation activities within an established time, schedule & budget.
  • Lead and manage manufacturing capital projects consisting of both Lilly and Non-Lilly professionals to safely achieve project objectives from conceptual design through operational verification (cradle to grave cycle). Project objectives are defined as: safety, asset capability or capacity, budget, schedule, quality and risk management.
  • Drive project design, permitting process, construction & commissioning strategy.
  • Facilitate integration of operational and project strategies to ensure an effective and timely project delivery without impacting the operations.
  • Evaluation with the work team of the project scope before requesting the necessary budget.
  • Liaison between the site process teams, site engineering and construction teams.
  • Monitor construction schedule and provide feedback to ensure project is completed on schedule and on budget.
  • Escalate issues and provide recommendations to bring project back on track.
  • Track project construction throughout mechanical completion and start up.
  • Lead efforts related to commissioning & qualification strategy, equipment verification/qualification execution & documentation.
  • Lead with a disciplined, structured approach to project management based on compliance with Company Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure construction activities are delivered following all health, safety, environmental and quality procedures & requirements.
  • Develop and maintain safety and environmental execution plans for projects.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental policies, procedures, and work rules for project personnel, contractors, and subcontractors from conceptual design through operational verification.
  • Participate in HSE teams and lead contractor safety team, if needed.
  • Develop and maintain effective communication with project teams, governance teams, business partners and other stakeholders as the size of the project may dictate.
  • Facilitate issue resolution, anticipate scope changes, and implement safely with quality, speed, and value.
  • Participate in project governance meetings and lead the construction team efforts as needed.
  • Support efforts related to facilities site master plan, facilities asset resource assessment & continuous improvement initiatives, as needed.
