About The Position

The Design Manager’s role is to be the main point of contact for their assigned account(s), implement workplace strategy and standards, and provide management of and support for design associates for their assigned account(s).

Requirements

  • Holds Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Architecture or Interior Design from an accredited institution (NCIDQ a plus)
  • 5-8 years’ work experience in two or more of the following: a) interior design, b) architecture and c) space planning or similar combination of education and experience
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)
  • Skilled in AutoCAD required (REVIT a plus)
  • Proficient or ability to learn client specific CAFM software (Serraview, Manhattan, Center Stone, Planon, Archibus, etc)
  • Proficient in programming and space planning for a varying sized spaces
  • Ability to read and review construction documents
  • Understands standards and guidelines for programming codes, procedures, documentation, and project systems organization
  • Excellent organization and documentation experience required
  • Anticipates, identifies, quantifies, and resolves problems in a timely and positive manner
  • Consistently meets deadlines and completes tasks as previously defined
  • Works with integrity, trust and commitment, setting an example for others
  • Interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Responsibilities

  • Serves as main point of contact for account
  • Implements process documents that align with workplace strategy and client business needs
  • Delivers client workplace model standards; recommends new standards and looks for continued improvements to the client workplace design
  • Creates test fits and suggests workplace improvements in response to client business needs
  • Provides proposals to maximize space efficiencies while implementing solutions in-line with corporate real estate goals
  • Collaborates with Real Estate Portfolio Strategist, Project Management, Occupancy Planners, Move Managers and other CRE team members
  • Interfaces with Client to develop new workplace options, finalize project concepts and prepare final documents for client approval
  • Organizes all data analytics and space solutions into presentation format for client delivery
  • Review and confirm all preliminary space plans and design concepts are safe, functional, aesthetically appropriate, and meet all public health, safety, and applicable code requirements
  • Establishes and maintains an organized file system for all projects
  • Administration of MAC (Moves, Adds, and Changes)
  • Provides reporting on the implementation of projects while in progress and upon completion
  • Determine selection of colors, materials, and finishes to appropriately convey the concept and meet clients requirements
  • Establish selection and specification of furniture, fixtures, equipment, and millwork, including layout drawings and detailed product description to facilitate pricing for procurement and instillation of furniture
  • Maintains CAFM data that supports development of space allocation plans
  • Trains and develops design talent for assigned account(s)
  • Creates new space layouts and suggests workplace improvements in response to client business needs and ways of working requirements
