Requirements

  • Graduate from a Canadian post-secondary institution or its equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in: Strategic partnership development, business development, program development, international engagement, or complex stakeholder environments.
  • Proposal development, partnership building, and strategic initiative development involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience in program planning, management, budget development, and control. International program/project management experience using logic model approaches
  • Domestic and/or international program development, funding environments, and partnership ecosystems.
  • Engaging with governments, industry, international organizations, or multilateral partners.
  • Experience in preparing concept papers, proposal development, narrative and financial reports, where applicable using current GAC, and other development partners’ requirements.
  • Staff supervision and team leadership.
  • The Canadian college and institute system, including institutional priorities, capabilities, innovation and workforce development roles.
  • Strong understanding of international business development, international market dynamics, economic partnerships, or trade-related engagement approaches
  • Strong understanding of international business development, international market dynamics, economic partnerships, or trade-related engagement approaches.
  • Communications skills and ability to interact with senior officials of member institutions and other agencies including government, financial institutions and the private sector, and to design and deliver impactful presentations.
  • Canada’s trade diversification and international economic priorities. (an asset)
  • Familiarity with multilateral organizations, development banks, or international funding environments. (an asset)
  • Bilingual - English and French mandatory

Responsibilities

  • Supporting CICan’s strategic growth and positioning through the development of domestic and international programs, partnerships, and revenue generation opportunities aligned with CICan’s Roadmap to 2030 and the renewed Programs & Partnerships platform strategy.
  • Advancing strategic business development opportunities.
  • Conducting market and partnership analysis.
  • Identifying and assessing funding opportunities.
  • Supporting the development of scalable initiatives that mobilize the expertise of CICan members in response to Canada’s workforce, innovation, reconciliation, productivity, and international engagement priorities.
