About The Position

Teaching Lab is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming teacher professional learning to improve student outcomes. They partner with teachers, school, district, and state leaders to create the necessary instructional systems for change. The organization values collaboration, resilience, research, accountability, equity, and justice. This full-time, salaried position is based in New York, NY, with a start date of October 2026. The role reports to a Senior Manager or Director and supervises no one. Travel is on-site with some remote work. The compensation range is $80,000 to $105,529 annually. The role requires expertise in teacher coaching, instructional design for special education math, and deep knowledge of K-12 math special education practices and materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Five (5) or more years combined experience working in K-12 education, with a minimum of two years experience teaching K-12 students from traditionally underserved backgrounds with demonstrated evidence of impact
  • Two (2) or more years combined experience working with partners outside of their organization to manage workflow or deliver services
  • Two (2) or more years of combined experience planning and implementing projects
  • Two (2) or more years combined experience leading or coaching the implementation of HQIM (in any subject area)
  • Deep knowledge and experience with College- and Career-Ready math or ELA content and practice standards
  • Experience designing impactful professional learning for educators
  • Experience facilitating impactful professional learning or coaching for educators
  • Experience managing relationships with clients and stakeholders in an education context
  • Experience teaching or coaching at least one of the following curricula: Illustrative Math, Amplify Desmos Math
  • Strong commitment to growth mindset for both adults and students, with a desire to continuously strengthen instructional practices and team capabilities
  • Ability to design and deliver high-quality, evidence-based professional learning that advances teaching and learning outcomes
  • Compelling communication and facilitation skills that build engagement and influence across diverse educators and stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage complex projects, multiple priorities, and tight timelines in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Implement excellent programmatic services through coaching, facilitation of professional learning, and collaboration with school and district leaders.
  • Engage in coaching cycles, including observations, modeling, co-teaching, data analysis, and feedback.
  • Design and facilitate high-quality professional learning content and resources grounded in research-based instructional practices.
  • Maintain strong partner relationships, supporting contract renewals and contributing to business development as needed.
  • Support Teaching Lab systems, tools, and processes for scaling partnerships, monitoring impact, and ensuring effective implementation.
