About The Position

The Manager, Professional Education plays a critical role in advancing clinical excellence through the development and execution of professional education programs focused on the safe and effective use of BD products. With a mission to improve patient outcomes, this role leads localized educational strategies, partners with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare institutions, and serves as a trusted advisor to both internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, the manager is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and managing HCP and KOL speaker relationships to support program objectives and elevate BD’s thought leadership within the surgical community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 3 years of professional education experience, preferably in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and implement multiple complex programs and projects simultaneously, consistently meeting deadlines while delivering high-quality outcomes with precision and professionalism under moderate supervision
  • Developed ability to strategically expand the network of speakers and training centers, solid expertise in adult learning theory, and experience in designing/implementing complex medical education programs
  • Strong ability to network and build relationship with alliance partners and key opinion leaders
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a highly matrixed organization
  • Knowledge and understanding of surgical procedures, techniques, medical terminology and anatomy.
  • Developed ability to strategically expand the network of speakers and training centers, solid expertise in adult learning theory, and experience in designing/implementing complex medical education programs
  • Ability to travel

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute local educational strategy for assigned area, aligned with local needs and broader business strategy, ensuring regular communication and alignment with commercial partners
  • Serve as the primary medical education liaison for assigned area, acting as subject matter expert for professional educational programs and processes.
  • Collaborate with field teams to identify educational gaps and opportunities within designated geographies.
  • Ability to take complex ideas and translate into impactful programs to educate HCPs.
  • Execution of regional-based educational programs, as assigned.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multiple projects at one time, effectively prioritize, and remain detail oriented and results focused.
  • Incorporate innovation in educational program design and delivery, demonstrating emerging technologies and methodologies to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Develop, strengthen, and expand network of relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), industry partners, and training centers, strategically leveraging these relationships to advance messaging, impact, and influence.
  • Vet, onboard, develop, and train speakers to meet the objectives of the education program, ensuring messaging is aligned with strategic direction while meeting unmet educational needs of HCPs.
  • Collaborate with the operations team, peers, and cross-functionally with key partners to continually refine learning pathways and update strategic content.
  • Leverage problem-solving skills with the ability to develop solutions for dynamic, interrelated, and complicated problems requiring analytical skills and ability to assess core issue(s), analyze data, and identify appropriate solutions.
  • Strong understanding of HCC and regulatory guidelines related to professional education, with knowledge of guidelines around HCP interactions and navigating at-risk scenarios to minimize risk to the company.
  • Implement and demonstrate efficient use of advanced tools to monitor, measure, and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of professional education programs, making data-driven decisions.
  • Drive continuous improvement within the region, regularly reviewing and refining educational strategies to ensure they remain relevant and effective in a changing healthcare landscape.
  • Builds positive relationships with internal and external partners, demonstrating varied perspectives to achieve strategic goals.
  • Assists in the development of HCP platform educational journey using key principles of adult learning theory, approaches, and strategy
