About The Position

Supervises employees, processes, quality, and safety in the manufacturing process. Accountable for costs, methods, quality, and quantity of production, operations, and personnel. Plans and lays out work, assigns, instructs, directs, and assists employees. Maintains discipline, morale, and personnel relations, and adjusts primary complaints. Hires and schedules production employees. Recommends terminations, transfers, promotions, and wage adjustments. Promotes OCC’s service excellence and quality. Provides excellent service to customers; builds strong relationships and team cohesiveness; focuses on quality and positive solutions; communicates respectfully; demonstrates compassion and understanding in response to customer requests/needs. Champions OCC’s vision and values; complies with policies and procedures, ethical standards, and Code of Conduct.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 7 years management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Plan, layout, and execute work programs, functions, and operations.
  • Implement and understand quality procedures.
  • Arithmetic and handwriting skills required and the ability to correctly complete all paperwork.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills required with the demonstrated ability to express oneself clearly and concisely.
  • Extensive ability to supervise and maintain effective relationships with team.
  • Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
  • Managing one’s own time and the time of others.
  • Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to complete assignments accurately; identify, document and resolve problems.
  • Sighted individual (i.e., vision corrected to 20/20) for significant reading and computer usage.

Responsibilities

  • Hire and discharge staff, and resolve personnel grievances.
  • Review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
  • Reviews production schedule to assure that adequate raw materials are available. Confers with Purchasing as needed to obtain materials.
  • Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
  • Plan and establish work schedules and production sequences to meet production goals.
  • Manage PFL inventory, cycle counts, adjustments and variances.
  • Develop, implement and prepare reports on work center efficiencies, examining how to maintain and increase levels.
