About The Position

This role is part of Alcon's Supply Chain function, a team that manages logistics, inventory management, and supply chain analytics for Alcon's industry leading products to ensure products are delivered efficiently and effectively so that people can see brilliantly. The Manager, Production Planning Purchasing, is primarily responsible for maintaining material schedules to support production control, managing material flow, and addressing shortages. You will handle direct material buying, execute supply chain strategies, and lead individual projects at our Manufacturing Facility in Houston, TX. All associates must adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training. Associates are responsible for meeting their individual job requirements and contributing to the overall compliance of the organization. Compliance with regulatory requirements and a commitment to continuous improvement are essential to our operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
  • 5 Years of Relevant Experience

Responsibilities

  • Maintain schedules for material requirements and availability to support production control and manage the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies within or between departments according to schedules.
  • Compile records of material quantity, cost, and type received, shipped, in stock, or in production.
  • Determine and address possible and actual material shortages.
  • Handle direct purchase of material and execute long-term supply chain strategies.
  • Manage individual projects, apply advanced knowledge to enhance project performance and operational efficiency, and make operational decisions requiring project management, time management, communication, and industry-specific skills.
