The Manager, Production Operations is responsible for completion of all daily productions tasks to ensure all Client SLAs are met in a timely and accurate manner, while meeting unit cost goals. They provide effective leadership to assigned staff to maximize the productivity, efficiency, quality and associate engagement of our Production Operations team. The manager monitors the performance of their assigned staff, and acts as a liaison with representatives from other departments (e.g., Client Services, Facilities, Compliance and technical support teams) to meet production and business objectives.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Management) or a related field is required.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of production operations, manufacturing, transaction processing, logistics, or related experience, including three in a managerial capacity.
  • Proven leadership skills. Must be able to lead courageously and develop associates to maximize their potential.
  • Strong analytical skills. Ability to work with budgets/production reports and analyze data to make operational decisions that improve productivity, efficiency and quality.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Skills: Solid organizational skills. Must be able to effectively multi-task and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to review printed documents to ensure that they meet quality standards.
  • Must be a self-starter and demonstrate strong initiative.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal). Must be able to adapt communication style to interact effectively with associates at all levels of the organization.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Tools: Strong PC/systems skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project).

Responsibilities

  • Effectively deal with personnel related issues and ensure that assigned staff are effectively utilized to optimize team performance.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to assigned associates, through the preparation of periodic performance reviews to recognize/reward strong performance, as well as counsel for improvement and ensure accountability when necessary.
  • Build and maintain a strong culture by actively supporting GPTW initiatives and engaging fully in Broadridge’s diversity, equity, and inclusion programs.
  • Support the preparation of annual operational budgets, effectively manage daily operations to stay within agreed upon budgets, and drive unit cost improvement.
  • Be responsible for understanding applicable Broadridge policies and procedures, as well as requirements of ISO and other Standards; collaborate with internal and external auditors, provide requested documentation, and follow up on audit reports, as applicable.
  • Ensure Production Supervisors are meeting daily production deliverables.
  • Ensure Late Job reports and Must Mail lists are monitored each day, and take action as necessary to ensure all SLA’s are met.
  • Interface with Production Coordinator to ensure production testing requirements and Canada Post delivery requirements are met.
  • Review Trouble tickets and Issue log and update status information as necessary.
  • Inspect production area to ensure a safe and clean work environment.
  • Generate Remedy, ITSM, and support tickets as required.
  • Complete online Intelex reporting for any associate incidents that occur onsite.
  • Act as warden in the event of emergency evacuations.
  • Monitor associate attendance and verify associate ADP report accuracy by day/pay period.
  • Review and approve associate vacation requests as appropriate and work with Human Resources to proactively address any associate attendance/lateness issues.
  • Facilitate handover with previous and incoming shifts to ensure production continuity.
  • Attend all required meetings with Client Services, Issuer Operations, Facilities, Compliance, Health and Safety, Business owners and Finance as required.
  • Participate in annual and periodic production planning sessions.
  • Participate in monthly vendor service meetings.
  • Review all equipment issues with vendors and escalate as required.
  • Coordinate all PMs with service vendors.
  • Facilitate production tours as requested.
  • Ensure associate training is scheduled and completed as required throughout the year, and ensure operators follow all production processes properly.
  • Participate in all audit meetings and provide objective evidence to support auditor requests.
  • Communicate staffing requirements to temp agencies and ensure proper staffing levels are maintained on their assigned shift(s).
  • Participate in all BCP/DR initiatives.
  • Process all required invoices for production-related expenses.
  • Identify production efficiencies and submit suggestions to improve unit costs where practical.
  • Must be flexible to work overtime, including weekends.
  • Initial training period is conducted in day shift.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
