About The Position

The Procurement Manager will support Walmart’s Domestic Transportation Services. This role is responsible for managing a portfolio of carriers, running RFP events, negotiating rates and contracts, supporting transportation lane management, and partnering with internal business units. This individual will play a key role in identifying the best transportation solutions by balancing cost, service, operational needs, and carrier performance. The role also requires strong technical and analytical capabilities, including working with large datasets, supporting systems and contract administration, and developing dashboards or reporting tools to drive business decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, economics, technology, or related field and 2 years' experience in procurement strategy, contract management, analytics, or related field.
  • 4 years’ experience in procurement strategy, contract management, analytics, or related field.

  • Experience working with transportation carriers, freight providers, or fleet operations

Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with assigned transportation carriers and act as the primary point of contact for carrier-related matters
  • Negotiate rates, contracts, and transportation solutions with third-party carriers and internal fleet partners
  • Support transportation lane sourcing and carrier placement activities to ensure operational efficiency and service excellence
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to identify transportation needs and deliver cost-effective solutions
  • Analyze transportation, supplier, and financial data to support procurement decisions and business strategies
  • Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and metrics related to carrier performance and procurement activities
  • Ensure rates, contracts, and supplier information are accurately entered and maintained within internal systems
  • Monitor supplier performance and support continuous improvement initiatives through KPIs and service-level expectations
  • Participate in sourcing events, supplier evaluations, and business case development for transportation procurement initiatives
  • Support contract management activities including renewals, amendments, risk identification, and compliance reviews
  • Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes through technology, automation, and data-driven insights
  • Present recommendations, analyses, and transportation strategies to operational and business stakeholders
