Alternate Hybrid locations maybe considered at Raritan, NJ (USA); West Chester, PA (USA); Palm Beach Gardens, FL (USA); Raynham, MA (USA); Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopedics business to establish a standalone orthopedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes. Job Overview The Manager, Strategy, Performance & Policies plays a key role in supporting the Procurement function’s strategy execution by driving performance management, policy development, and governance activities across DePuy Synthes. This role partners closely with Procurement leaders and cross‑functional stakeholders to translate strategic priorities into measurable outcomes, standardized processes, and clear policy frameworks. The position offers strong exposure to senior leaders and the opportunity to influence how the organization measures success, manages risk, and operates effectively as it evolves as a standalone company. Key Responsibilities Support development and execution of Procurement's strategic initiatives by defining performance metrics, tracking outcomes, and preparing insights for leadership decision‑making. Lead performance management processes, including KPI development, scorecards, dashboards, and regular business reviews. Develop, maintain, and govern policies, standards, and operating guidelines to ensure alignment with organizational strategy and compliance requirements. Partner with Finance, Legal, Compliance, and business teams to ensure policies and performance frameworks are practical, aligned, and consistently applied. Analyze business performance trends, identify risks and opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations to leadership. Support enterprise governance forums by preparing materials, reporting progress, and monitoring adherence to approved strategies and policies. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to simplify processes, enhance transparency, and improve operational effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Finance, Strategy, Economics, Public Policy, or related field).
  • 6–8 years of progressive experience in strategy, performance management, policy, operations, or related business roles.
  • Experience developing and tracking performance metrics and translating data into executive‑ready insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, interpret, and apply policies, standards, or governance frameworks.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience synthesizing complex information into clear recommendations.
  • Ability to partner effectively with cross‑functional stakeholders in a matrixed organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing leadership‑level materials.
  • Proficiency in Excel, with strong advanced analytics skills to analyze insights, spend, or supplier performance evaluation.
  • Familiarity with digital and AI procurement tools
  • Strong presentation and executive communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with and influence business partners.
  • Demonstrated experience leading initiatives/projects.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience in Procurement
  • Experience in medical devices, healthcare, life sciences, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience supporting enterprise‑level strategy, transformation, or governance initiatives.
  • Familiarity with performance management tools, dashboards, or business intelligence platforms.
  • Exposure to policy development in areas such as compliance, risk, operations, or corporate governance.
  • Strong change management and stakeholder influence skills.
  • English required; additional languages preferred.
  • Strategy, analytics, or project management certifications preferred but not required.
