About The Position

The Manager, Procurement - Projects will oversee supply chain and procurement excellence for a global portfolio of sustaining capital (brownfield) projects exceeding $1B in planned investment over the next five years. This role will shape procurement strategy, ensure disciplined execution, and drive total cost of ownership (TCO) value across project lifecycles—from early-stage concept through delivery and operational integration. Partnering closely with site leadership, supply chain teams, and project stakeholders, you will enable high-impact outcomes across a global mining operation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in capital project procurement, ideally within mining or heavy industry
  • Proven leadership experience managing large-scale, complex global projects
  • Strong understanding of EPC/EPCM contracting models and project controls
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams
  • Expertise in SAP (MM module preferred) and procurement systems
  • Track record of developing and executing enterprise-level supply chain strategies

Responsibilities

  • Lead global strategy, governance, and resourcing for sustaining capital project procurement across operating sites
  • Develop and implement aligned procurement strategies in line with the global projects blueprint
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to regional and site leadership teams, aligning supply chain outcomes with business objectives
  • Establish a rolling 3-year resource plan to support capital projects delivery
  • Partner with project delivery teams to define and execute procurement strategies from concept through operations
  • Support early-stage project development (concept through pre-feasibility), ensuring strong supply chain foundations
  • Contribute to EPC/EPCM and prime contract evaluations and commercial decision-making
  • Lead supplier qualification, contract negotiation, and sourcing strategies to minimize risk and optimize cost
  • Drive integration of procurement outcomes into operations, ensuring long-term value realization
  • Collaborate with category management and technical advisory teams to standardize equipment and services
  • Identify and execute opportunities for cost savings, risk reduction, and process efficiency
  • Support operational readiness planning across all supply chain functions
  • Lead and mentor cross-functional teams across global operations
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration
  • Promote strong stakeholder engagement and clear communication with senior leadership
  • Champion safety, ensuring adherence to policies and proactive risk management
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting to stakeholders and leadership
  • Maintain high-quality procurement and project data for decision-making
  • Support effective communication of risks, issues, and performance insights
