About The Position

As a Manager within Kearney's Private Equity & Principal Investors (PEPI) practice, you will lead client engagements focused on restructuring, turnaround, distressed transformation, and special situations. We partner with private equity sponsors, private credit investors, lenders, Fortune 500 companies, and management teams to help organizations navigate periods of financial and operational distress. Our work focuses on helping clients stabilize performance, improve liquidity, preserve enterprise value, and execute operational turnarounds across large enterprises and middle-market businesses. Leveraging Kearney's operational expertise together with deep restructuring capabilities, we deliver practical solutions that create sustainable outcomes during some of the most critical moments in a company's lifecycle. This is an exciting opportunity to play a leadership role in one of Kearney's fastest-growing capabilities at the intersection of restructuring, turnaround, special situations, and private capital while helping build a differentiated advisory platform serving investors and corporate clients.

Requirements

  • An MBA (preferred) and 7-10 years of professional experience.
  • Manager-level experience leading restructuring, turnaround, distressed transformation, special situations, or private credit engagements within a leading consulting or restructuring advisory firm.
  • Demonstrated experience leading operational turnarounds, restructuring, liquidity improvement, or distressed transformation engagements.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, liquidity management, enterprise value preservation, cash flow improvement, and operational performance metrics.
  • Proven ability to manage senior client stakeholders and lead complex engagements from strategy through execution.
  • Experience coaching consultants, leading high-performing teams, and fostering collaboration across multidisciplinary engagements.
  • Passionate about helping build and grow a rapidly expanding restructuring and special situations capability.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications preferred: CIRA, CDBV, CTP, CFA, CPA, or other restructuring, turnaround, insolvency, or financial advisory credentials.

  • Leading Fortune 500 special situations and credit-informed transformation engagements
  • Managing middle-market restructuring and distressed advisory engagements
  • Developing executive-level recommendations and client-ready deliverables
  • Supporting business development efforts, including proposal development and client presentations
  • Leading teams and collaborating with client stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes
