About The Position

S&P Global Energy is seeking a Manager, Price Reporting to lead Platts carbon and RNG/biomethane coverage in the Americas. This role involves managing and motivating a team, writing about pricing information, interpreting data, and developing and protecting Platts price assessments. The successful candidate will become familiar with Platts environmental markets coverage to support, mentor, and develop the reporting team. They will also represent Platts externally, explaining price assessment methodology, delivering insights through content creation (podcasts, analysis, features, special reports), and working to evolve existing price assessments and develop new market coverage. Collaboration with colleagues across teams and regions to refine the Platts carbon suite and other impacted sector groups is also a key aspect of this role.

  • Strong public speaking / presentational skills

  • Proven analytical ability and comfortable handling numbers
  • Excellent at identifying improvements and efficiencies and implementing processes that continually promote productivity and quality improvements.
  • Ability to identify talent and nurture development within and across teams

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience covering international financial and commodities markets in a price reporting or analytical role, including an interest in environmental markets.
  • Prior management experience, having led a team of market reporters or analysts.
  • Demonstrate ability to create relevant pricing content and drive news and thought leadership in the team including podcasts, analysis, features
  • Degree in Journalism, Business or Finance
  • Project management experience

Responsibilities

  • Managing a team of price reporters across the Americas, and contributing on coverage on an as-needed basis.
  • Develop team members and foster a positive, collaborative and collegial team culture by providing regular constructive insights to the team.
  • Produce and oversee price assessments in line with Platts rigorous and published methodology while ensuring adherence to ISOCO Principles for Price Reporting Agencies. This would include reviewing prices assessments and being the critical "second pair of eyes" check.
  • Ensure that emerging market issues which may require further investigation and potential methodology adjustment are highlighted and acted upon in an appropriate time frame.
  • This managerial position will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Americas carbon team including scheduling coverage and holidays.
  • Conduct managerial performance reviews, empower team members, foster collaboration, and encourage innovation—particularly in the use of Artificial Intelligence in daily workflow.
  • Write and lead the generation of thought-leadership content, including analysis, features, blogs, special reports and digital content including podcasts and videos.
  • Lead frequent engagements with key industry stakeholders, explaining methodology and identifying market trends that could lead to methodology changes.
  • Work across commodity groups and regions within Platts to foster collaboration in reporting and external market engagement.
