Manager, Portfolio Management

SandozPrinceton, NJ
$118,500 - $220,100Hybrid

About The Position

The Manager of Portfolio Management (Execution Focus) enables day-to-day portfolio execution by turning portfolio priorities, guidance, and governance decisions into accurate, decision-ready outputs. Reporting to the Senior Director, Portfolio Management, this role works closely with director-level portfolio leads across both in-house and Business Development portfolios and acts as the execution backbone of the portfolio function. The role is accountable for execution readiness, follow-through, and efficiency—driving material productivity gains by replacing manual work with scalable, AI-enabled processes (for example, using the Copilot interface and capabilities). The role is expected to proactively identify risks, data gaps, and decision blind spots, and to flag options to portfolio leadership. This is an individual contributor role with no direct people management responsibilities. Sandoz continues to go through an exciting and transformative period as a global leader and pioneering provider of sustainable Biosimilar and Generic medicines. As we continue down this new and ambitious path, unique opportunities will present themselves, both professionally and personally. Join us, the future is ours to shape!

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business, Engineering, or Finance is required.
  • 3+ years in pharma/biotech with exposure to generics; portfolio or execution roles preferred.
  • Ability to work independently from home or office when necessary for business purposes.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available for this role now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Execution-First Orientation: Relentlessly focused on execution excellence—turning direction into accurate, on‑time outputs, not owning portfolio strategy or final investment decisions.
  • Project & Portfolio Discipline: Manages multiple priorities with rigor, structure, and strong follow‑through across complex, cross‑functional portfolios.
  • Data, Analytics & AI Fluency (Copilot, Salesforce.com, Power BI): Uses data, dashboards, and AI tools to drive insights, automate workflows, and improve decision speed and quality.
  • Executive-Ready Communication: Produces clear, concise, and decision‑oriented materials suitable for senior leadership without rework or translation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Works seamlessly across R&D, BD, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Finance, and Commercial to ensure aligned and timely portfolio execution.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare governance-ready materials for portfolio forums by building slides, validating data, and ensuring clear decision framing. Deliver complete, accurate materials on time with minimal rework.
  • Maintain portfolio forecasts and scenarios across internal and BD assets by updating our internal pipeline system. Clearly summarize changes and implications to support timely governance decisions.
  • Support BD-led assets by coordinating inputs, maintaining trackers, and reflecting deal and development changes in portfolio forecasts and materials as opportunities progress.
  • Build and improve templates, dashboards, automation, and AI-enabled workflows on product evaluations that reduce manual effort, rework, and cycle time. Convert repetitive work into scalable, low-touch processes.
  • Manage portfolio timelines, data refreshes, and deliverables across the internal pipeline, BD funnel, and governance activities to ensure readiness ahead of decision points.
  • Coordinate inputs across R&D, Regulatory, Commercial, Finance, Supply, and BD teams. Resolve data gaps or inconsistencies early to prevent downstream delays.
  • Track decisions, actions, owners, and timelines from portfolio forums and ensure updates are reflected consistently in materials, forecasts, and next steps.
  • Execute priority analyses or execution‑focused portfolio initiatives as assigned, delivering clear, practical outputs with minimal oversight.
  • Proactively surface timeline, data integrity, or cross‑functional execution risks that could compromise portfolio readiness or decision quality.
