The Position Roche Molecular Systems, Inc. seeks a Manager Policy Communications at its Pleasanton, CA location. This role involves developing and implementing integrated communications strategies, goals, and objectives aligned with business priorities and functional requirements, using an audience-centric approach. You will support high-value, impactful external and internal change communications, establishing and managing an end-to-end integrated communication plan with metrics for continuous improvement. As a trusted partner for leaders globally, you will advise and coach them in building and protecting the company’s reputation and managing business crises. You will also engage the workforce and empower leaders to communicate effectively with internal and external audiences and maximize stakeholder interactions. Maintaining broad knowledge of Diagnostics areas of focus and priorities, you will use communication insights, metrics, and expertise to translate complex topics into clear messaging that reinforces the company’s reputation. Staying abreast of internal and external developments and industry trends related to strategic communication and new ways of working is crucial. You will also engage and manage relationships with global vendors to develop communication assets for affiliates. Telecommuting is permitted up to 3 days per week.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing or a related field, and 5 years of post-baccalaureate and progressive experience in the position offered or a closely related communications position in the healthcare industry.
  • Working within healthcare field (pharma and diagnostics) to communicate medical information to support business needs and objectives within applicable healthcare regulations and industry trends.
  • Ensuring effective management of a business’s reputation, engaging and communicating with multiple stakeholders, managing potential crises, writing effective messaging, and handling media relations in a highly regulated and sensitive industry.
  • Communication, public relations, and working with internal/external stakeholders and media in developing markets.
  • Creating effective communication strategies and assets that are tailored to different global markets.
  • Drafting editorial/journalistic works that convey complex information, shape public perception, and showcase and advocate for specific topics or changes.
  • Applying Agile methodologies.

  • Maintain broad-based knowledge of the Diagnostics areas of focus and priorities, and use communications insights, metrics, and expertise to translate complex topics into clear messaging and positioning that reinforce company’s reputation.
  • Stay abreast of internal and external developments, industry trends, as these pertain to strategic communication and ‘new ways of working’ priorities.
  • Engage and manage relationships with vendors across the globe to develop communication assets to support affiliates.
