About The Position

Manager will oversee all Laboratory testing at all VHS facilities, including physician offices and urgent care centers. Ensures that employee orientation and competency records are maintained as required by the regulatory agency. Ensures that acceptable proficiency testing performance is maintained with required corrective action as required by the regulatory agency. Implements new procedures and reviews/revises the procedure manuals annually. Maintains appropriate levels of supplies for the department. Maintains instrument logbooks for preventative maintenance; records include corrective action when problems occur. Maintains proficiency on all procedures and instruments related to the technical specialty. Responsible for resolving technical problems and ensuring that remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance characteristics.

Requirements

  • 5 Years Healthcare/Medical - Laboratory/Hematology/Chemistry/Microbiology required
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in the clinical laboratory in the specific discipline, i.e., Hematology, Chemistry, Blood Bank, etc.
  • MT required
  • Registered Medical Technologist/MS or certification in the specific specialty
  • Knowledgeable about the specific laboratory section and its operation, including current accreditory standards and regulation required
  • Demonstrates knowledge/competency in providing service to patients of all ages, including neonate, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric required
