The Manager of Plant Operations is responsible for daily management of personnel of Plant Operations Department including: Team member scheduling Payroll Monitoring and delegation of work assignments Problem resolution Vendor/Staff coordination Annual team member evaluations Position responsible for coordination and supervision of daily events including: Coordinates required regulatory activities in the Environment of Care, and Life Safety. Supervises / performs preventative maintenance and documents results and maintains preventative maintenance logs Work order system tracking Department Organizational Action planning (OAP) Monitor Central Plant operations Monitoring and response to FPL outages Coordination with other departments for: Planned outages (electrical, water, gas, etc.) Maintenance of facility to comply with regulatory agencies Minor construction planning and coordination Effectively uses and role models current leadership techniques and theories, encouraging the decision-making skills of staff members and providing insight and leadership in complex situations. Ensures that information disseminated to staff is monitored for effectiveness and changed as needed. Understands and enforces hospital and personnel policies and procedures. Serve on hospital and Patient Care Services committees, teams, and work groups as requested. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Three to five years of managerial experience in healthcare facility plant operations.
  • General knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electric, steam, gas, air, medical gases, water, fire alarm and suppression systems, generators, etc.
  • Experience in Emergency Management, Life Safety, and Environment of Care, TJC, OSHA, AHCA, NFPA regulations and standards.
  • Experience with a physical environment survey utilizing TJC, NFPA, AHCA or other quality process standards.
  • Skill in examining and continually improving operations and procedures, developing, implementing, and monitoring policy, and developing new strategies and programs in plant operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with ability to communicate and interact with customers at all levels of the organization.
  • Employee mentoring, development, and performance management skills.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, community relation skills.
  • Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation
  • TB/PPD Surveillance Program
  • Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).
  • Corrected vision, normal hearing.
  • Ability to communicate in writing and verbally.
  • This position will require standing, lifting, walking, and kneeling for extended periods of time push/pull up to 40lbs., carry and lift up to 75lbs.
  • Ability to adapt and react during stressful situations.
