Advance the Mission Through Strategic Philanthropy Services at Loyola Medicine. At Loyola Medicine, philanthropy plays a vital role in advancing patient care, research, and education. The Manager of Philanthropy Services is a strategic leader who partners closely with frontline fundraisers and institutional stakeholders to deliver exceptional donor experiences across the full donor lifecycle. This role offers the opportunity to lead strategy, communications, and stewardship efforts that directly support Loyola Medicine’s mission and long‑term philanthropic impact. This role serves as a key liaison between frontline fundraisers, clinical departments, and administrative teams to ensure a seamless donor experience aligned with the institution’s mission of advancing patient care, research, and education. The Manager develops gift and stewardship strategies, drafts proposals, briefings, reports, and personalized donor communications, and supports effective pipeline and moves management through close daily collaboration with gift officers. The ideal candidate is a strong, concise writer who thrives in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment and brings a proactive, solutions‑ and service‑focused approach to advancing philanthropic goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience considered
  • 3–5 years of experience in development/philanthropy or marketing/communications within a complex organization
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with overlapping deadlines from concept through delivery
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong critical thinker with the ability to quickly analyze, synthesize, and apply information
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and skilled in project management
  • Service‑ and solutions‑oriented with a commitment to exceptional donor and stakeholder experiences
  • Self‑directed professional who takes initiative while remaining flexible and patient in achieving results
  • Enjoys building relationships with a wide range of internal and external partners
  • Genuine interest in fundraising, philanthropy, academic medicine, and mission‑driven work

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage development processes, including pipeline development, donor strategy, and stewardship.
  • Partner with frontline fundraisers to develop and advance donor strategies.
  • Draft proposals, briefing materials, stewardship reports, and tailored donor acknowledgements.
  • Support internal and external communications that highlight philanthropic impact and strengthen a culture of philanthropy.
  • Collaborate daily with gift officers, the VP of Philanthropy, and cross‑functional philanthropy teams.
  • Coordinate donor materials, gift packages, stewardship schedules, and related reporting.
