About The Position

The Philanthropy Program Manager is responsible for leading and enhancing the organization’s philanthropic initiatives, volunteer engagement, financial literacy outreach, and storytelling efforts. This role will manage operational logistics, programs and events, data tracking, content strategy, and community partnerships to ensure impactful and measurable social contributions aligned with our brand and values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Nonprofit Management, Public Relations, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in corporate philanthropy, community engagement, or CSR.
  • Strong project management, organizational skills and time management skills.
  • Experience with SharePoint, data platforms (Kadince preferred) and workflow development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, manage multiple priorities, and problem solve.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and coordinate volunteer days with nonprofit partners.
  • Promote volunteer opportunities internally to drive staff participation.
  • Manage pre-event logistics and post-event recaps, including photo documentation.
  • Manage the inventory, ordering, and distribution of Cares shirts and swag.
  • Manage Cares content on Citadel’s intranet.
  • Coordinate donation drive logistics and execution.
  • Create philanthropic member engagement opportunities.
  • Support the success of new philanthropic initiatives, programs, and partnerships.
  • Lead all aspects of the Citadel Heart of Learning Awards Program (CHOLA) including promotions, nominations, judging, presentations, communications, engagement, and employee involvement.
  • Plan, project manage, and lead execution of Citadel sponsored philanthropic events such as CHOP’s Parkway Run & Walk.
  • Manage the Citadel Cares Employee Choice Awards grant program.
  • Contribute to the growth and impact of Citadel’s philanthropic events and programs across our charter.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners and schools.
  • Manage the use of Citadel’s community involvement software (Kadince).
  • Track and manage events, community meetings, and volunteer registrations/hours.
  • Process, record, and report donation requests.
  • Integrate Citadel GLs and accounting data for accurate reporting.
  • Build and maintain workflows, dashboards, and reports for CSR activities.
  • Centralize and analyze philanthropy performance metrics.
  • Create Kadince workflows for organizational support requests (grants, workshops, sponsorships).
  • Implement charitable giving recordkeeping in Kadince with Accounting support.
  • Create a strategy and calendar for webpage content in collaboration with key stakeholders and contributors.
  • Coordinate financial literacy content across departments.
  • Ensure timely updates and promote initiatives to increase site traffic, including social media.
  • Support program implementation, calendar, guest presenter scheduling, and tracking.
  • Develop a proactive content calendar and strategy for Cares initiatives.
  • Ensure timely and effective sharing of Cares content across all available platforms.
  • Collaborate with Brand & Buzz to create a resource and content library for employees to support Cares storytelling.
  • Develop volunteer recognition and appreciation opportunities.
  • Represent the organization at community events to increase visibility.
