About The Position

We're looking for a Manager to join our Personal Lines Underwriting team! Please note that this is a secondment role for six months duration. This hybrid role will require you to be in office three (3) days per week in one of the following offices: Toronto, ON, North York, ON, or Richmond Hill, ON.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Mathematics, Marketing, Law or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
Minimum 5 to 10 years of strong leadership and management experience, in a relevant field would be an asset.
Strong knowledge of personal lines products and systems preferred.
Change leadership: implement process improvements and support employees in a positive and structured way during transitions.
Data-driven approach; comfortable with numbers and analysis; Ability to interpret results and translate them into business decisions.
Must be able to monitor competitive practices, industry trends, or other developments impacting business results and make recommendations regarding corporate practices.
Strong communication skills and ability to foster and maintain effective professional relationships at all levels of the organization.
People and/or Project Management experience with strong skills in collaboration, coaching and mentoring, and proven success in team building and managing relationships with a remote team.
Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with insight into different perspectives and approaches.
Can master multiple priorities under time constraints with a sense of urgency; setting clear objectives and monitor the progress of multiple initiatives and deadlines.
No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

Develop methods to inspire and build a highly effective and engaged team capable of meeting the current and future needs through effective leadership.
Develop, recommend, and implement leadership strategies, organizational structure, and processes/technology improvement initiatives.
Provide effective leadership by continuously keeping staff informed on initiatives and results and share responsibility for the overall performance, productivity, and engagement of team members.
Develop and manage effective working relationships with the Regional Managers and underwriters, as well as your counterparts across the country and across distribution channels.
Act as an ambassador for Corporate Personal Insurance liaising with Operations and Planning, Operational Performance, Sales and Business Development and Claims Management on planning, technical and administrative issues.
Play a key and active role in the selection process and hiring of qualified staff.
