About The Position

The Manager Performance Reliability is responsible for improving and maintaining the high reliability of the Kalitta Air fleet by liaising with departments that monitor aircraft, engine, and system health. This role involves engaging with engineering reliability teams, coordinating with the Tech Services Department to analyze and resolve repeat failures, and recommending process improvements to optimize fleet performance. The manager will also coordinate and communicate reliability and fleet projects with various Kalitta Air departments and the executive maintenance team, implement SMS-related risk assessment and reduction processes, and analyze mechanical difficulty reports to enhance station efficiency. Additionally, the position requires coordination with CASS and Materials departments to identify vendor issues, ensuring effective completion of aircraft maintenance, and assisting in the development of maintenance programs for efficiency and cost control. The role involves monitoring fleet meetings for improvement data and performing other duties as assigned by the Senior Technical Services Manager.

Requirements

  • Valid A&P Certificate
  • Experience working Heavy Transport Aircraft preferably 747-400 and 777 aircraft
  • Able to use and understand wiring diagrams, maintenance manuals, troubleshooting manuals and parts manuals
  • Good computer skills
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Maintenance Control experience is required
  • At least 5 years of experience maintaining the same category and class of airplanes operated by Kalitta Air
  • Must be appropriately certificated under 14 CFR Part 65
  • FAA Airframe & Power Plant Certificate
  • Individual must be organized and able to work with computers and programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to read, write and understand spoken and written English.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to give verbal and written direction to assigned staff.

  • Some college and/or technical school desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Liaison with departments that monitor Aircraft Health (AHM), Engine Health (EHM), and System Health to improve/maintain high reliability of the Kalitta Air fleet.
  • Engage with engineering reliability teams for increased fleet performance and the reliability department.
  • Coordinate with Tech Services Department to analyze repeat items and develop solutions to reduce failures.
  • Recommend actions for process improvement to optimize Fleet performance.
  • Coordinate and communicate reliability and fleet projects with other Kalitta Air Departments and the Kalitta Executive Maintenance team.
  • Implement SMS-related risk assessment, risk reduction and safety enhancement processes and improvement initiatives for the fleet.
  • Analyze mechanical difficulty reports and identify any changes to enhance station efficiency.
  • Coordinate with CASS and Materials Department to identify fleet vendor issues.
  • Coordinate with required departments to ensure effective completion of maintenance, preventative maintenance, alteration, and repair of company aircraft and support equipment.
  • Assist in the development of maintenance programs and modifications in order to improve efficiency and cost control for the fleets.
  • Monitor required fleet meetings for the procurement of improvement fleet data.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Senior Technical Services Manager.
