Our customer, the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), provides, operates, and assures command and control of the Defense Information System Network (DISN) services to its customers, the department of Defense (DoD) and national security organizations. This position directly supports the DISA-provided capabilities and services. The Leidos Digital Modernization Sector/Global Solutions Management-Operations II (GSMO-II) contract has an opening for a Network Performance & Reliability Engineer II at MacDill AFB, FL. The Network Engineer will perform sustainment, performance, maintenance, Problem and Change management services to help ensure secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of the Department of Defense networks. This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance to start. Responsible for assisting with the following duties: • Maintain, deploy, and troubleshoot databases and data ingestion scripts. • Assist data engineers with quality control of data, data collection processes, and testing/implementing data collection and process improvements • Aid senior team members in supporting GSMO Program driven Innovations development, integration, and continuous improvement by leveraging, maintaining, and in the creation/maintenance of various tools. • Perform engineering tasks related to the design, performance management/analysis, implementation, and integration of network changes and sustainment of customer systems in an Wide Area Network environment. • Conduct planning and performance of analytical research, design development, and other tasks to align with customer specifications. • Control network systems & tools to ensure 99% or better system uptime and connectivity. • Provide ad-hoc engineering support, statistics/data gathering, modeling, creating/updating flowcharts and providing forecasts based on trending analysis based on Engineering documents and experience. • Ensure efficient delivery of contract capabilities using industry standards and repeatable processes. • Mitigate risks, control costs and schedule variance, and effectively manage large scale, integrated projects. • Perform a variety of analytical tasks which include hardware and software design and implementation.
