About The Position

We are seeking a Manager, Payroll & Benefits to oversee the payroll, benefits, and pension plan while working closely with Human Resources to manage the workers' compensation program and disability program for our hourly, salaried, company drivers and owner operators. Given the diversity of this role, we are seeking an experienced leader ideally within the transportation industry, with strength and knowledge gained through their NPI certification as a payroll leadership professional, knowledge of Canada Revenue Agency, Canada Labour Code, Workers' Compensation Act and benefits administration. As a key member of the management team within Shared Services, you must have leadership experience in overseeing a critical function and a team, a hands-on approach to Payroll and Benefits administration ideally within the transportation or a related industry, proven ability to collaborate with Human Resources for disability and WCB management, effective people and communication skills to work with employees and managers in various divisions and locations, problem solving and critical thinking skills to ensure all information is collected, acted upon and timely, familiarity with accounting concepts and procedures to complete remittances and establish processes to meet fiduciary requirements, and working knowledge of payroll systems, and ability to quickly learn Excel and other related software. Knowledge of Truckmate (TMW), Workforce Now, ISAAC, DATS and ADP payroll systems is a key asset. Due to the financial responsibilities, a Criminal Reference Check and credit check will be required. The successful candidate will require a reliable vehicle as our office is located outside of public transport.
