About The Position

New York City Football Club (NYCFC) is seeking a high-potential Manager to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of the Club’s Operational Readiness Program for Etihad Park, NYCFC’s future home. This role sits within the Office of the Chief Operating Officer and reports to the Senior Director, Capital Projects Delivery & Operations. The Manager will work directly with senior leadership on one of the most significant venue projects in sports, helping translate a major capital project into a live venue that is ready to open and operate successfully from Day 1. This is an individual contributor role for someone who is eager to take ownership, learn quickly, and contribute across a wide range of strategic and operational priorities. This is a 12-month fixed-term role. The role includes program management and delivery responsibilities but extends beyond traditional project management and may include cross-functional coordination, research and strategy definition support, and ad-hoc execution across critical readiness workstreams. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity. This is a rare opportunity for an early-career professional to gain hands-on exposure to a landmark sports venue project while working directly with and learning from senior leadership.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of full-time professional experience, ideally including training in strategy consulting, PMO, or another rigorous, project-based environment
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills, with the ability to create clear, polished, executive-ready materials
  • Curiosity and a hands-on approach to exploring practical uses of artificial intelligence, with a willingness to test ways to improve workflows to support planning, analysis, and execution
  • Strong structured problem-solving, research, and synthesis skills
  • Exceptional organization and detail orientation, with a high bar for quality and follow-through
  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently with limited direction, including sound judgment on whether to escalate
  • Ability to build effective working relationships and drive progress with stakeholders without formal authority
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Leads with humility and accountability, high ownership, and willingness to roll up your sleeves and support whatever the project requires
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions

Nice To Haves

  • Interest in sports is a plus
  • Prior experience in construction, capital projects, or venue operations is also helpful but not required
  • Graduate degree preferred but not required

  • Support execution across workstreams, helping maintain momentum and accountability in a fast-moving environment
  • Take on a broad range of strategic and operational tasks beyond traditional PMO responsibilities, stepping into whatever is needed to support delivery
  • Drive follow-ups, document actions and decisions, and help ensure timely close-out across workstreams
  • Help solve ambiguous problems by structuring issues clearly, conducting research, and translating findings into practical recommendations and action plans
  • Develop high-quality presentations, analyses, and board- and executive-ready materials to support planning, governance forums, and senior decision-making
  • Support the design and setup of key enablers for stadium operations, which may include procurement processes, elements of the future operating model, and governance structures
