About The Position

The Manager, Office of Early College and Academic Partnerships, under general supervision, supports strategic programming to promote access, retention, and success for students transitioning from Early College High School (ECHS) programs into Texas A&M University–San Antonio. This position plays a key role in managing the Greater Texas Foundation (GTF) Scholars Program and provides targeted services for first-time in college (FTIC) students with ECHS backgrounds who are not part of the GTF cohort. This role involves student support, outreach, and cross-campus coordination to ensure a smooth academic and social transition for ECHS students. The Manager also oversees the GTF Peer Mentor Program and supports pathway alignment with ECHS partners. This is a term-limited, grant-funded position with an anticipated end date of September 30, 2030. Extension is dependent upon additional funding. This is a grant-funded position. Grant funded positions are time-limited and are contingent upon sufficient grant funding.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five (5) years of related experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Skilled in assisting students navigating early college experiences and transitional programs.
  • Experience developing and evaluating student-focused programs.
  • Familiarity with grant-supported programming, compliance, and reporting.
  • Master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, counseling, or a related field.
  • Experience managing or supporting grant-funded student success initiatives.
  • Familiarity with scholarship management and compliance processes, including coordination with Financial Aid.
  • Prior experience coordinating peer mentor programs or student leadership development initiatives.
  • Understanding of pathway alignment between high school and higher education institutions.
  • Proficiency with student information systems and data tools (e.g., Banner, Salesforce, Excel).
  • Demonstrated success in planning and facilitating student engagement programs or transitional support services.

Responsibilities

  • Design and lead academic and social programming that supports engagement and success for GTF Scholars.
  • Provide individualized case management and connect students to campus resources.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise GTF Peer Mentors and paid student workers.
  • Coordinate outreach efforts to prospective GTF Scholars and support onboarding in collaboration with internal teams and ECHS partners.
  • Manage administrative tasks, including scholarship award notifications, student letters, and inventory tracking.
  • Assist with budget tracking and student scholarship compliance.
  • Stay in compliance with Financial Aid policies and procedures as they relate to scholarship disbursement and student eligibility.
  • Develop programming and support services for FTIC students with ECHS backgrounds outside of the GTF program.
  • Facilitate collaboration with departments such as Academic Advising, Enrollment Services, and Student Success to support transitions.
  • Track student engagement and academic performance, conduct proactive outreach to those needing additional support.
  • Plan and facilitate orientation, welcome events, and first-year experience activities tailored to ECHS transition needs.
  • Collect and analyze student data to evaluate program impact and support continuous improvement.
  • Maintain compliance with FERPA and university policies; uphold high standards of confidentiality and ethics.
