About The Position

Northwest Classical Academy seeks a College and Academic Counselor to provide services to students and parents regarding academic, college, and career plans. This position starts in July 2026 and will report to the Upper School Principal on Northwest Classical Academy’s Kennesaw campus. All NCA employees are expected to adhere to the school’s mission and the principles of classical education.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree from a fully accredited college.
  • Extensive knowledge of the college admissions landscape.
  • At least 3 years of related work experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Expertise with relevant software applications such as Google Workspace and Scoir.

  • Experience working in a charter school and/or classical education setting preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with students and parents to provide advice on high school course selection, post-secondary options, financial aid, and career possibilities.
  • Guide and support students throughout the college application process, including personalized assistance in identifying colleges of interest, writing letters of recommendation, and serving as a resource for students and parents regarding colleges, admission criteria, and the application process.
  • Execute programming related to academic and college counseling, including information sessions for students and parents.
  • Develop and maintain the NCA school profile that is sent to colleges.
  • Stay abreast of current college admission trends through reading and research.
  • Administer and/or support state, local, and standardized testing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School or Upper School Principal.
