About The Position

Provides leadership, operational oversight, and related financial and administrative activities for the College’s marketing operations, web and digital media functions, and Student Life operations. This position supervises assigned personnel and directs departmental planning, budgeting, purchasing, procurement, vendor coordination, project tracking, and reporting. The position also oversees the College website, and digital communication platforms and ensures that programs, services, and communications support institutional priorities, student engagement, accessibility, and the mission of Texas Southmost College.

Requirements

  • Provides leadership, operational oversight, and related financial and administrative activities for the College’s marketing operations, web and digital media functions, and Student Life operations.
  • Supervises assigned personnel and directs departmental planning, budgeting, purchasing, procurement, vendor coordination, project tracking, and reporting.
  • Oversees the College website, and digital communication platforms.
  • Ensures programs, services, and communications support institutional priorities, student engagement, accessibility, and the mission of Texas Southmost College.
  • Ensures web and digital content aligns with institutional branding, communication standards, accessibility requirements, and applicable laws and regulations, including ADA and WCAG standards.
  • Maintains awareness of best practices, emerging technologies, accessibility standards, procurement requirements, student engagement trends, and applicable legislation.
  • Maintains confidential records and exercises sound judgment when handling personnel, student, vendor, financial, and institutional matters.
  • Uses interpersonal skills and sound judgment when working with coworkers, the supervisory chain, faculty, staff, students, vendors, and the public.

  • Experience in assisting with operational planning, resource allocation, departmental reporting, strategic initiatives, and implementation of a comprehensive marketing plan.
  • Experience in participating in systematic review and evaluation of functional areas.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct supervision, leadership, coaching, training, work assignment, and performance evaluation for the assigned personnel.
  • Establishes annual goals, priorities, work plans, and performance expectations for assigned personnel and functional areas.
  • Promotes a collaborative, service-oriented work environment and ensures effective coordination between Marketing, Student Life, and other College departments.
  • Coordinates with Marketing personnel to ensure timely promotion of Student Life programs through print, web, social media, digital signage, video, photography, and other communication channels.
  • Oversees the College website and assigned digital platforms, including content governance, user access, quality assurance, analytics, search optimization, usability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensures web and digital content aligns with institutional branding, communication standards, accessibility requirements, and applicable laws and regulations, including ADA and WCAG standards.
  • Coordinates the conversion, remediation, and maintenance of accessible digital documents and web content in collaboration with content owners and other College departments.

  • Maintains awareness of best practices, emerging technologies, accessibility standards, procurement requirements, student engagement trends, and applicable legislation.
  • Maintains confidential records and exercises sound judgment when handling personnel, student, vendor, financial, and institutional matters.
  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports punctually, and follows an assigned schedule.
  • Completes duties in compliance with College standards, policies, procedures, guidelines, and applicable laws and regulations.

  • Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored by Texas Southmost College.
