About The Position

We are seeking a Manager of Transmission Line Engineer who will manage a collaborative and dynamic team working in a fast-paced environment, solving challenging problems involved with electric transmission. The successful candidate will serve as a Supervisor and Engineering Lead on high voltage electric transmission line design projects of overhead and underground systems for some of the largest utilities in the country as well as regional utilities. The candidate will apply NESC, ASCE, ACI, NEC, and other applicable standards in the engineering and design of all types of capital and maintenance projects from 34.5 kV to 765 kV. Additionally, you will assist the team, as well as independently perform: engineering analyses, prepare bidding documents, plans, and specifications, and prepare material procurement and construction documents. In this collaborative environment, you will be working alongside project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management. The position provides the opportunity for you to develop an engineering team with direct report responsibilities. While also being accountable for managing client relations, proposal development, scope creation, and project management. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, preferred, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Twelve plus (12+) years of relevant experience in the design of high voltage electric utility transmission systems.
  • Professional Engineering Registration in at least one U.S. state or equivalent.
  • Experience with PLS-CADD, POLE, TOWER, SAG10, LPILE and/or FAD, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Work effectively in a team environment; can also work independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Five plus (5+) years of supervising staff.
  • M.S. degree in Structural Engineering.
  • Track record of outstanding communication to serve as primary point of contact for existing and perspective clients.
  • Business acumen with a record of understanding and meeting key project performance metrics.
  • Ability and passion to develop staff through mentoring.
