Tri-County Technical College invites applicants to apply for the role of Manager of the Accessibility Resource Center for our Pendleton Campus. Reporting to the Director of Student Support. The Manager for Accessibility Resource Center is responsible for managing in a multi-campus environment the planning and implementation of programs and services which support students with learning differences and disabilities to foster academic equity and improved academic success. The position works collaboratively with the Student Development team to create and deliver programs and services for whole student growth and development. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. In addition, the employee must demonstrate good judgment and be able to consistently apply effective critical thinking and communication skills. The ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality in all assigned tasks is essential. The successful candidate must possess initiative, exceptional organizational and management skills, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills appropriate for interaction within a team-oriented office environment and with individuals from the College, businesses, schools, and community agencies; the ability to handle tight and/or shifting deadlines, multiple priorities, and stressful conditions in a professional and effective manner; during peak times, periodic expanded hours and/or completion of special assignments before or after normal working hours, as well as the ability to work under pressure; travel to satellite campuses and/or other locations as needed; and effective use of computer equipment and various types of software in order to access the student information system, perform word processing functions, and/or to develop presentation materials. This is an onsite management-level position responsible for overseeing full-time staff, proving leadership and guidance to ensure team success. The role also includes managing the intake process, ensuring efficient and effective operations.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or a related field with a minimum of two years experience working with students with disabilities.
  • The employee must possess strong organizational skills, oral and written communication skills, and relate well to persons from different backgrounds in a variety of settings and situations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight and management for the accessibility resource center.
  • Supervise full and part time staff.
  • Manages operational budgets, including grant funds.
  • Provide regular case file review for employees.
  • Manages the accommodation process for students, including intake processes, review of supporting information, assignment and approval of reasonable academic accommodations.
  • Coordinate auxiliary services for reasonable accommodations.
  • Provide guidance to faculty as they integrate academic accommodations for individual students.
  • Provides education to employees about accessibility.
  • Ensure college is providing for the delivery of reasonable academic accommodations and physical accommodations for students in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and other legislative mandates.
  • Serve as a consultation source for college employees for accessibility-related needs and operations.
  • Provides support to Student Development department operations and initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Participate in professional development activities offered through the college, through the State Tech System and other regional organizations as appropriate.
