About The Position

The Manager of Registration supervises, hires, trains, and evaluates staff, conducting employee reviews and discussing pertinent findings and recommendations. This role involves reviewing data, developing reports, and creating tools to identify areas for improvement and track benchmarks, while also meeting goals set by the Director related to Patient Access. The Manager revises, develops, and implements policies and procedures to maintain proper workflow within the revenue cycle, focusing on front-end operations. They ensure compliance with regulatory systems/processes such as software for medical necessity checking and Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) issuance. This position works with system-wide department leadership to educate and promote efficiencies in Patient Access, responds to partner and patient issues, and manages special projects related to improved processes for both hospital and clinic services. Other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in applicable healthcare fields of patient access and revenue cycle operations.
  • Supervisory experience with proven ability to oversee subordinates.
  • Must be able to follow written/oral instructions.
  • Thorough knowledge of Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) and Joint Commission (JCAHO) regulations affecting and/or driving Patient Access processes.
  • Expert knowledge of insurance plans and coverage requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred
  • MHA or MBA desired

Responsibilities

  • Supervises, hires, trains and evaluates staff

  • Monitors partner performance to assure that corrective action is taken when deficiencies are noted
  • Reviews data and develops reports and other tools to identify areas for improvement and to set and track benchmarks.
  • Meets goals set by Director related to Patient Access
  • Revises, develops and implements policies and procedures to maintain proper workflow within the revenue cycle, focusing on front-end operations
  • Assures compliance with and ensures that regulatory systems/processes are in place such as: software to perform medical necessity checking and issuance of Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) etc.
  • Works with system-wide department leadership to educate and promote efficiencies in Patient Access
  • Responds to partner and patient issues regarding Patient Access
  • Manages special projects related to improved processes within Patient Access for both hospital and clinic services (if applicable)
  • Other duties and projects as assigned
  • Acts as a Direct supervisor for Patient Access/Registration staff.
  • Supervisory responsibilities are conducted in accordance with directives of management, the organization's policies, and applicable laws.
