This position is responsible for administering the department's Labor and Employee Relations program in accordance with Federal and State laws and applicable County rules and policies. It also assists with oversight of the daily functions performed, coordinates activities with other agencies, and prepares and presents reports. The role interprets and ensures compliance with human resources laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and memoranda of understanding. It serves as an employee relations specialist, providing advice and information to employees, supervisors, and managers on a wide range of human resources policies and practices. The position also assists departments in the interpretation and application of human resources laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and memoranda of understanding, and acts as an employee relations specialist providing guidance to managers on disciplinary actions and in the use of performance management systems.
