About The Position

MFCP is seeking a Manager of Quality and Safety – Data Centers to lead product quality for Data Center hose and fluid-conveyance production. This role will establish and oversee the quality function in a high-volume manufacturing environment, partnering closely with sales, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure customer requirements are translated into effective inspection, testing, traceability, and release controls. The Manager of Quality and Safety–Data Centers is responsible for leading product quality for Data Center hose and fluid-conveyance production. This role partners with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain, to establish a quality department within a high-volume, medium- to high-variability manufacturing environment. The position works closely with manufacturing and engineering leadership to evaluate and integrate automation software and smart/IoT hardware for assembly, testing, and quality control, including connected-tool data, torque tracking, test interlocks, and traceability controls that prevent product from advancing without verified results. This role leads quality technicians, holds stop-ship authority, and builds the quality system needed to support a world-class quality operation within MFCP.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in quality, engineering, manufacturing, operations, or a related field required.
Minimum of 6 years of progressive manufacturing quality experience required; 8 or more years preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or people-management experience, including leading employees, setting priorities, delegating work, coaching performance, and making personnel decisions.
Experience standing up or significantly scaling a quality function in a high-volume manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
Hands-on experience with inspection, test, nonconformance, CAPA, and product traceability required; hose, fluid power, hydraulics, pneumatics, or similar assembled product preferred, but not required.
Experience evaluating and implementing quality or manufacturing software, connected tools, test equipment, or shop-floor data systems preferred.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001, customer and certification requirements preferred; AS9100 a plus.
Experience with root cause and corrective action tools such as 5-Why, 8D, or equivalent strongly preferred.
Prophet 21 / ERP experience a plus.
Ability to build a quality department from the ground up in a high-volume plant, not only maintain an existing system.
Ability to partner across sales, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and executive management and turn requirements into practical shop-floor controls.
Ability to evaluate, select, and integrate software and hardware for assembly, test, and QC, including connected torque tools and process interlocks.
Ability to run a quality management system and a shop-floor inspection and test process, not only write policy.
Ability to make clear hold/release and stop-ship decisions.
Strong knowledge of quality systems, audit practice, inspection and test methods, traceability, incident investigation, and corrective action.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use quality and process data to find root cause and install a lasting control.
Ability to build working relationships with operators, technicians, engineers, sales, supply chain, customers, suppliers, auditors and executive management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including procedures, training, audit responses, and leadership reporting.
Ability to research requirements, exercise sound judgment, and apply practical controls in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn quality, manufacturing, and ERP systems; Epicor Prophet 21 experience is a plus.

Nice To Haves

8 or more years of progressive manufacturing quality experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Stand up and lead a new quality department for high-volume Data Center hose and fluid-assembly production, including structure, staffing, standards, records, and daily operating cadence that will be managed via developed KPIs around, first-pass yield, scrap, PPM, and complaint trends.
Partner with sales, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain to translate customer specifications, RFQs, and new-job requirements into inspection, test, and release criteria before launch.
Own incoming, in-process, and final quality, including pressure-test methods, inspection criteria, first-article, traceability, and ship/hold decisions.
Evaluate and integrate/modify software and hardware for assembly, test, and QC, including connected tools, data capture, and process interlocks.
Evaluate deployment of bluetooth-enabled torque tracking and related connected-tool controls so critical fastening and assembly steps are recorded, traceable, and tied to the job or serial record.
Build a layered process-control stack across assembly, test, and QC so out-of-spec torque, incomplete test, or missing traceability stops the unit from advancing or shipping.
Build and maintain the quality system, including procedures, control plans, quality records, certification requirements, and verified corrective and preventive action.
Lead and direct quality technicians, including hiring, coaching, performance management, work allocation, training, and other personnel decisions within assigned authority.
Establish objectives, work plans, schedules, and priorities for the quality function; monitor performance and develop direct reports against departmental goals and KPIs.
Manage internal and external quality audits, including preparation, customer or certification communication, follow-up corrective action, and verification of closure.
Investigate customer complaints, nonconformances, and process escapes; drive root cause and lasting corrective action with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain.
Work with supply chain leadership to qualify and monitor suppliers of hose, fittings, and related components; drive supplier corrective action when incoming material fails.
Analyze quality data, first-pass yield, scrap, PPM, and complaint trends; use the data to prioritize automation, inspection, and process improvements.
Train operations and technicians on quality standards, test methods, and the use of connected assembly and QC systems.
Monitor departmental performance against budget, schedule, and quality objectives; recommend process, automation, and resource improvements.
