About The Position

The Manager manages and coordinates the daily operations of assigned clinical department in collaboration with the Director/Department/Section Head. The Manager plans and organizes all clinical functions including staffing and staff development purchasing and budgeting. The Manager will have a span of control that includes the following key areas; Pre-Service Intake for all Hospital and Clinic scheduled service, Pre-Service Registration / Admission activities, Pre-Service Financial Counseling, Patient Financial Clearance, and Utilization Review for initial Admission activities to include payor Notification of Admissions.

Requirements

  • High School diploma
  • 7 years related healthcare experience including two years of supervision or management experience or three years of related healthcare experience including two years of supervision or management experience with Bachelor’s degree.
  • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including a professional attitude and ability to work collaboratively with physicians, administration, nurses and support staff.
  • Excellent judgment, decision-making, and delegating skills.
  • Self-directed including the ability to work independently, set priorities and maintain confidentiality.
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial statements including the ability to analyze trends and make recommendations.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare or Business Administration
  • Experience in Patient Access Services and/or healthcare Revenue Cycle Knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative support to the Pre-Service Center.
  • Communicates professionally with patients, families and staff.
  • Manages, develops, retains and inspires an engaged workforce.
  • Participates in training, professional development and quality improvement activities.
  • Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
  • Other related duties as required.
