About The Position

The Manager of Operations – Institute for Urban Care oversees the daily operations, budget execution and grant compliance for community health programs within the Capital Health Institute for Urban Care (IUC). This role guides a team of program coordinators to maintain high service quality, expand local referral networks and keep daily workflows running efficiently. The Manager of Operations – IUC also uses community health data and reporting systems to identify local wellness trends, update program practices and resolve operational gaps. Additionally, the role develops and maintains strong partnerships with local organizations, represents the organization at stakeholder events and manages financial workflows to align resources with long-term strategic goals. This role requires full-time on-site work with the flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends to meet community and program needs.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Management or Public Relations, required
Four years of management experience, inclusive of some combination of contract development, business administration, project management, healthcare operations and leading teams, when accompanied by a Bachelor’s degree.
Eight years of management experience, inclusive of some combination of contract development, business administration, project management, healthcare operations and leading teams, when accompanied by a high school diploma or equivalent.
Driver's License
Broad understanding of clinical environments, healthcare operations and standard program management frameworks.
Strong knowledge of operational planning principles, public health practices and healthcare delivery systems.
Professional proficiency with the full Microsoft Office suite of applications, with intermediate to expert level skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
Working knowledge of digital query tools, web-based applications and complex spreadsheet development.
Strong data analytics skills with a proven ability to run and interpret operational and job-specific reports.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly convey the meaning behind large datasets to a diverse group of stakeholders.
Strong networking skills with a proven ability to cultivate and develop positive professional relationships.
Proven ability to lead, coach and motivate a team to execute organizational goals.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and pivot quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of punctuality, professional reliability and organizational dedication.

Nice To Haves

Master's degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Management or Public Relations is preferred.
Prior experience in the healthcare industry and with formal project management is preferred.
Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversee the daily operations and creative development of designated urban care programs to maximize community impact
Translate executive strategic plans into actionable program goals, growth initiatives and measurable operational objectives
Manage and coach a dedicated team of program coordinators by setting clear workflow goals, schedules and performance expectations
Guide the design of community interventions that target the Social Determinants of Health (SDoH) to reduce regional disparities
Connect program goals with findings from the regional Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) to address local healthcare gaps
Utilize health reporting systems and operational data to drive practical, everyday program improvements
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations, public officials and regional stakeholders
Serve as a primary program representative at public events, stakeholder meetings and community briefings, including handling authorized media engagements
Collaborate on community-based participatory research projects and translate operational data into clear, accessible public health summaries
Drive the end-to-end grant lifecycle by helping secure new funding, drafting proposals, maintaining post-award compliance and completing program audits
Develop, justify and monitor annual program budgets to ensure efficient resource allocation and strict operational compliance
Manage major fiscal escalations, capital expenditure reviews and routine accounts payable tracking
Prepare monthly departmental meeting agendas, performance metrics and executive leadership summaries
Execute everyday administrative workflows including program payroll processes, staff scheduling and program webpage updates
