About The Position

The Manager of Maintenance Control manages the Maintenance Control Department and coordinates maintenance and engineering responses to aircraft irregularities. The role is responsible for supporting high aircraft dispatch reliability and ABX system integrity, coordinating with maintenance executive staff on reporting and incident procedures, and ensuring the airworthiness and safe operation of all ABX aircraft systemwide. The position requires the ability to travel.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• A&P license.
• Eight years of experience maintaining heavy transport aircraft, including two years as a maintenance controller or supervisor in a line maintenance environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Very good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with the ABX network, Word, Excel, and Focus.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Maintenance Control aircraft systems and ABX operations.
• Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations and ABX Maintenance Control procedures and processes.
• Ability to travel.

Nice To Haves

• ABX Maintenance Control or ABX Line Maintenance Management experience preferred.
• Three years of experience on aircraft types operated by ABX preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall direction, communication, and control for the maintenance/engineering division regarding out-of-service aircraft, accidents and incidents, maintenance delays and cancellations, returns or diversions due to mechanical issues, and other maintenance irregularities.
• Notify maintenance executive staff and prepare reports for irregularities, accidents, and incidents.
• Authorize deferral of inoperative aircraft equipment in accordance with FAA MEL/CDL requirements.
• Ensure the airworthiness and safe operation of all ABX aircraft systemwide.
• Oversee the Maintenance Control Department and control the maintenance/engineering division.
