The Crown Family School of Social Work, Policy, and Practice, part of the University of Chicago, has a long history of shaping the social work field. It focuses on solving complex social problems through research, training, and community engagement, addressing issues like educational inequality, health disparities, poverty, and child welfare. The To&Through Project, housed within the Kersten Institute for Urban Education at Crown Family School, is dedicated to improving educational outcomes and promoting equity in Chicago Public Schools (CPS). The project aims to help educators use data for inquiry and impact, analyzing student journeys and working with stakeholders to shift practices and create equitable learning experiences from middle grades through college graduation. The To&Through team fosters a collaborative, reflective, and personable culture, valuing care, anti-racism, integrity, creativity, curiosity, and respect for all expertise. This position reports to the Director of Learning and Engagement and is crucial for designing, facilitating, and sustaining professional learning experiences that engage participants with data, deepen inquiry, and drive action for postsecondary access, persistence, and success for CPS students. The role involves working with a diverse range of stakeholders including educators, counselors, non-profit partners, higher education professionals, and community members. This is a grant-funded position with a primary grant expiration date of 6/30/2029, with a high likelihood of renewal.
