About The Position

PharmaCann, Inc. owns and operates best-in-class production facilities and retail dispensaries for cannabis-based products. We currently operate in the States of Illinois, New York, Massachusetts, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Colorado and Michigan as a medical and/or adult use cannabis provider to patients and customers. We are looking for energetic, results-driven individuals to join our rapidly growing team and industry. This position is responsible for managing and directing the IPM department with effective leadership and coordination to achieve weekly objectives; along with simultaneously developing the department to continuously improve and progress. This role is responsible for managing and supervising the IPM department team members, supplies, and pesticide application program. The Manager of IPM role must lead and participate in their job with professionalism, compliance, and safety, consistently. The Manager of IPM will report to the Senior Manager ofCultivation. This role will support the Senior Manager of Cultivation to supervise and manage the IPM department, while working in cohesion with the other Production departments to achieve most effective cultivation results.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three years of work experience in a related industry or work environment.
  • Previous leadership experience in a related industry or work environment required.
  • Knowledge and background in cannabis cultivation required.
  • Ability to utilize and modify electronic documents.
  • Able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws relating to key areas of responsibility.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred commercial agricultural, horticultural, and/or cannabis industry experience for over 2 years.
  • Preferred 1 year of experience at Pharmacann.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced production environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and develop the Integrated Pest Management program.
  • Implement a program consisting of pesticide treatments, beneficial insects, cultural control, and mechanical removal of pests and affected material.
  • Assist with providing effective leadership to employees to ensure a complete understanding of and alignment to Pharmacann’s vision, mission and values to maintain a positive work environment and a high level of morale.
  • Ensure all compliance requirements are met including facilitation of the immediate adjustment of practices to accommodate the dynamic changes that regularly occur.
  • Ensuring all staff are following company defined protocols. Enforce all company policies and regulations.
  • Manage employees, including planning, assigning and directing work, examining performance and conducting evaluations, coaching, supervising, disciplining, addressing complaints and resolving employee issues.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members to ensure daily work, productivity, and quality goals are met.
  • Assist in establishing initial and ongoing training for employees to ensure an adequate level of understanding regarding guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Monitor employee attendance, time off balances, time off requests, and all other attendance related processes.
  • Perform employee reviews annually.
  • Work collaboratively with all Pharmacann’s employees and business partners. Bring any and all safety, security, and plant health concerns forward through the proper channels including and not limited to the Senior Manager ofCultivation, Safety leadership, Compliance leadership, Security leadership, and/or General Manager of Cultivation.
  • Assist with developing and managing projects, including defining project scope, resources and achieving deliverables on time and within budget.
  • Ensure effective and appropriate communication with team members to increase team unity and operative flow.
  • Determine daily prioritization of all tasks by collaborating with the Supervisor of IPM and Senior Manager of Cultivation in an effort to maintain smooth garden cadences.
  • Facilitating appropriate adjustments to the program in order to ensure pest pressures are prevented or suppressed.
  • Planning and managing schedules for cleaning and maintaining equipment, supplies, and machinery.
  • Responsible for prioritization, completion, and documentation of all tasks performed by the IPM Technicians as instructed.
  • Update and track all required information daily.
  • Must plan and delegate constant supervision of Technicians to ensure all work is being done properly and efficiently, in accordance with our SOPs.
  • Facilitating the work of the IPM department employees, by providing answers to questions, as well as providing them with the tools and resources they need to perform their tasks.
  • Clear understanding of workflow throughout the cultivation areas.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager of Cultivation and General Manager of Cultivation.
  • Plan and carry out through the support of the Senior Manager of Cultivation to guide and train IPM department members to maintain proper organization of the department.
  • Monitor and report any noticeable environmental or plant health concerns to the Senior Manager of Cultivation
  • Ensuring that sufficient supplies for the Farm department are available.
  • Contribute and support to associates with a safe, well maintained, and organized work area.
  • Plan and carry out the management and guidance to have the department follow all instructed state and federal compliance regulations.
  • Maintain paperwork required by the New York Department of Agriculture.
  • Record and track all treatments carried out by IPM Technicians. Organize for governmental department review.
  • Report any improper action of compliance regulations.
  • Following instructed procedures will maintain compliance and safety. Any compliance or safety mistake or error created must be reported to the leadership of the department.
