About The Position

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Manager of Interventional Radiology in Perioperative Services is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Interventional Radiology (IR) services and ensuring safe, efficient, high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Bachelors in Science - Radiology
  • Registered by the governing agency of the Managing Department (ARRT, NMTCB, ARDMS, etc.) and licensed by the ADH if applicable.
  • Five (5) years as working technologist
  • State of Arkansas Radiography license
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and direction for the day-to-day operational management of Interventional Radiology services. This includes maintaining and nurturing good rapport with medical staff and other UAMS employees.
  • Performs some of human resource management, including recruitment & retention, analyzing staff mix and deploying staff, ensuring competency of staff through development and regular evaluation, and providing disciplinary counseling.
  • Promotes and nurtures team building and career growth to maximize productivity and job satisfaction.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction by analyzing customer complaints, concerns and suggestions, and providing appropriate follow-through.
  • Monitors the operating budget; collaborates with supply chain to maintain proper stock levels, reviews and reports significant variances; woks with coders to maximize reimbursement and assure appropriate billing practices; develops and promotes measures to stay within budget.
  • Plans and organizes staff & facilities to meet patient needs.
  • Provides leadership training on all new technologies.
  • Evaluates quality of images, procedures and services.
  • Ensure cost effective operations and value to the patient.
  • Ensures all regulatory requirements are met, including State, Federal & Joint Commission requirements.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned by Administrative Director and/or Assistant Director.
