Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in fleet operations, automotive testing, or vehicle lab management.
  • Proven track record in managing a fleet of vehicles equipped with ADAS or autonomous sensor suites and other instrumentation.
  • Deep hands-on experience with High-Voltage systems and electric vehicle platforms; expert-level knowledge of EV safety procedures and charging logistics.
  • Strong experience managing multiple cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced R&D environment, executing technical integration workflows against tight schedules and high-stakes deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage assets via fleet management software, dashboards, and JIRA-based ticketing systems.
  • Solid experience in technical procurement, including contract negotiation and budget management for large-scale equipment and vehicle acquisitions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, setup, and scaling of a dedicated vehicle lab capable of supporting advanced fabrication, hardware/software integration, and vehicle maintenance work.
  • Orchestrate daily data collection activities, ensuring the fleet is deployed efficiently to meet the needs of ML and Perception teams.
  • Establish and enforce safety policies and procedures for handling Electric Vehicles (EVs) and High-Voltage (HV) systems.
  • Act as the primary safety officer for the vehicle lab and charging infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive safe driver training for R&D operators and engineers, ensuring compliance with state and corporate safety regulations.
  • Manage internal hardware/software requests through a centralized fleet dashboard and ticketing system, providing transparency into vehicle availability and maintenance status.
  • Drive the procurement process for new vehicles, specialized lab equipment, and fleet maintenance services.
  • Manage relationships with upfitting partners and Tier 1 vendors.
  • Partner with Legal, Insurance, Workplace, and Engineering teams to manage vehicle registration, liability, and corporate vehicle policy compliance.
