About The Position

The Manager of Day Habilitation Services is responsible for the overall leadership, coordination, and operation of Day Habilitation programs serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This position ensures the delivery of high-quality, person-centered services that promote independence, community inclusion, self-advocacy, skill development, and enhanced quality of life. The Manager provides direct supervision to program staff, ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, develops innovative programming, and fosters a culture of respect, dignity, and inclusion consistent with The League for People with Disabilities' mission and core values.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Experience managing Day Habilitation, Community-Based, or Adult Services programs strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of person-centered planning and service delivery.
  • Knowledge of DDA regulations, Medicaid waiver services, and disability services best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic documentation systems.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
  • Successful completion of required background checks, drug screening, and agency onboarding requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Special Education, Psychology, Rehabilitation, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of Day Habilitation services to ensure effective and efficient program delivery.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate person-centered programming that supports participant goals and outcomes.
  • Ensure participants receive meaningful opportunities for skill development, community engagement, recreation, and social interaction.
  • Monitor program quality and participant satisfaction through ongoing evaluation and feedback.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support participant needs and services.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate Day Habilitation staff.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure staff maintain required certifications, training, and compliance standards.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and performance reviews.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and inclusive work environment.
  • Ensure participants are treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.
  • Review and monitor Individual Plans and service goals to ensure implementation and progress.
  • Address participant concerns, incidents, and behavioral challenges in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support participants in achieving greater independence, self-sufficiency, and community integration.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and agency regulations, including Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, records, and program reports.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, licensing reviews, and quality assurance activities.
  • Ensure health, safety, and risk management procedures are consistently followed.
  • Build positive relationships with participants, families, guardians, advocates, and community partners.
  • Promote community inclusion opportunities and partnerships.
  • Serve as a liaison between participants, families, staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with program budgeting and resource management.
  • Monitor staffing schedules and participant attendance.
  • Prepare reports and maintain records as required.
  • Support agency initiatives, strategic goals, and special projects.
