About The Position

The Manager of Clinics (Registered Nurse) is responsible for carrying out the strategic vision for their departments, aligning with the System and Department of Nursing Mission and Vision. This role requires excellent business acumen, analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in complex situations. Strong financial management abilities are essential, including managing budgets and teams to meet organizational objectives, with experience in cost savings, expenditure controls, and healthcare operational efficiencies. The position involves ensuring organized plans for staff selection, evaluation, orientation, continued education, competency assessment, and appropriate scheduling based on patient acuity. The role demands a visible nursing leader with outstanding relationship-building skills, a demonstrated record of success in recruiting and retaining clinicians, and strong physician relationship skills. A patient-focused approach with a commitment to high quality, safety, and customer service is crucial, including responsibility for achieving patient satisfaction targets. Experience with process improvement, continuous quality improvement principles, and knowledge of accreditation and certification requirements are necessary. Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, are required for effective communication with individuals and groups. The role involves participation in and leadership of hospital and department committees, and a demonstrated ability in developing and mentoring staff. Leading by example with professional behavior, personal and professional accountability, decisiveness, and the ability to gain consensus are key. The ideal candidate is a customer-focused, collaborative nursing leader with a "can do" attitude and a passion for nursing, serving as a role model and coach for Service Excellence Standards and service recovery. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 to 4 years of progressively responsible clinic nursing leadership experience.
  • Licensed professional nurse in the state clinic is located.
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adept listener with the ability to interpret concerns.
  • Intermediate computer knowledge is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters degree in a related field preferred.
  • Certification in specialty desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to carry out the strategic vision for Departments he/she is responsible for which align with System and Department of Nursing Mission and Vision.
  • Assures there are organized plans in place for selection of staff, evaluation of staff, orientation of new staff, continued education and development of staff, competency evaluation of staff, appropriate scheduling of staff based on patient acuity.
  • Is responsible for achievement of patient satisfaction (PressGaney and CGCAHPS) action plans to achieve targets for their areas of responsibility.
  • Participates in and leads hospital and department committees.
  • Demonstrated ability in developing and mentoring staff and colleagues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
