The Centralized Insurance Plan Manager is responsible for the creation, configuration, maintenance, and standardization of insurance plans within the organization’s practice management systems. This role ensures insurance plans, fee schedules, coverage tables, employer groups, and billing rules are accurately built and maintained to support operational efficiency, claim accuracy, and revenue cycle performance across all supported locations and brands. The position works closely with payor relations, credentialing, billing, operations, and IT teams to support new payer implementations, acquisitions, office migrations, and ongoing insurance plan maintenance.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in dental or healthcare insurance administration, insurance plan setup, or revenue cycle operations.
  • Strong understanding of dental insurance plans, fee schedules, and payer structures.
  • Experience working within dental practice management systems.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a centralized environment.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain insurance plans within practice management systems.
  • Configure fee schedules, coverage tables, plan frequencies, limitations, downgrades, waiting periods, and billing rules.
  • Establish and maintain employer groups, network assignments, and carrier mappings.
  • Ensure plan builds align with payer contracts and reimbursement structures.
  • Audit insurance plans regularly to ensure accuracy and consistency across locations.
  • Correct setup errors impacting claims processing, estimates, or collections.
  • Maintain documentation and standard operating procedures for insurance plan builds.
  • Support data cleanup and consolidation efforts during migrations and acquisitions.
  • Assist billing and operations teams with insurance setup troubleshooting.
  • Support implementation of new providers, locations, and Tax IDs within insurance plans.
  • Coordinate with credentialing and payor relations teams to ensure accurate payer alignment.
  • Provide guidance on plan setup standards and workflows.
  • Perform audits on insurance plan accuracy.
  • Track outstanding setup requests and implementation timelines.
  • Support reporting related to payer setup and insurance plan maintenance activities.
