About The Position

The Manager of Capital Construction is responsible for successfully executing UGI’s capital program portfolio of replacement and betterment (R&B) and growth projects in the North region in accordance with company safety and operating policies and procedures. The role provides leadership and supervision to capital construction team members and maintains effective relationships with assigned contractors. It also assists the Manager of Capital Construction in Lehigh with management of UGI tapping resources and supports Operations through the Duty Supervisor rotation. The manager oversees projects from Construction Ready through Job Complete, including close-out documentation, customer experience, municipal relationships and notifications, quality assurance, and inspection activities. The position develops and manages annual resource plans, cultivates a strong supervisory team, and collaborates with Engineering, Capital Project Management, Capital Planning, and Operations to meet project plan targets. Safety is a core value and priority in all construction activities.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project/Construction Management, Engineering, or another applicable field, or a minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
7 or more years of progressive experience in the utility or construction industry.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and complex projects.
Demonstrated leadership skills and experience supervising a team.
Knowledge of gas distribution systems and technical aspects of pipeline construction.
Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks to achieve results.
Ability to develop and implement processes that enhance organizational performance.
Ability to lead, coach, and manage team members.
Ability to manage resources, schedule work, and balance project priorities.
Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

Direct a team managing R&B and growth project construction from Construction Ready through Job Complete, including required close-out documentation.
Manage the customer experience and municipal relationships and notifications during construction.
Oversee quality assurance and inspection activities to reduce risk and improve efficiency, with safety as a core priority.
Develop and manage the annual resource plan needed to meet assigned production and mileage targets.
Develop the supervisory team and promote individual growth and development among capital construction team members.
Collaborate with Engineering and Capital Project Management to meet capital plan targets effectively and efficiently.
Support Project Management, Capital Planning, and Engineering in developing and prioritizing the project plan.
Support Operations in the Duty Supervisor rotation and perform other duties as requested.
Assist the Manager of Capital Construction in Lehigh with management of UGI tapping resources.
