About The Position

Lurie Children’s is seeking a Manager of Business Operations to support the Hospital‑Based Medicine Outreach and Neonatology Outreach divisions. Reporting to the Division Administrator II, this role partners closely with divisional leadership and Lurie Children’s Medical Group to advance financial performance, operational stability, and strategic objectives across multiple partner hospital sites. The Manager of Business Operations provides high‑level financial, analytical, and operational oversight for a large, geographically distributed physician workforce and plays a key role in ensuring accurate budgeting, invoicing, effort tracking, and compliance with partner hospital agreements.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field
10+ years’ working with executive leaders in highly complex organizations.
Business or healthcare experience coordinating and improving workflows for executive leaders in a complex and fast changing environment.
Ability to effectively manage self and help executive and senior level leaders navigate through complex issues and decisions; driving alignment and resolving issues amongst senior level teams.
Proactive thinker; ability to anticipate and prepare ahead of need.
Must be detail oriented with the ability to successfully manage multiple, deadline driven priorities with minimal direction and accuracy.
Proven and effective leader of others; ability to set clear expectations, coach and develop others.
Excellent manager of processes and effectively manages time.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Intermediate to advanced project management experience.
Adept in creating complex documents, presentations, spreadsheets, reports, and business correspondence.
Advanced organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize work.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Microsoft Project experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead the development of monthly and ad hoc business analytics, dashboards, and decision‑support metrics for divisional leadership.
Provide financial and operational oversight supporting more than 100 hospitalists, neonatologists, and intensivists across seven partner hospital sites.
Monitor compliance with partner hospital agreements and support contract and partnership coordination.
Manage operating budget oversight, including invoice reconciliation, financial monitoring, and timely outreach invoicing.
Partner with divisional leadership to maximize clinical revenue by monitoring charge capture, coding levels, and revenue cycle performance.
Oversee tracking and reconciliation of faculty effort, FTE allocation, clinical hours, PTO, FMLA, moonlighting, and contracted hours; ensure updates are communicated as changes occur.
Strengthen payroll accuracy and fund allocation through standardized tracking processes, reducing downstream corrections and administrative risk.
Collaborate with the Division Administrator and Administrative Coordinator to support strategic initiatives, including outreach faculty alignment with the main campus and high‑volume physician recruitment.
Provide administrative management of the airway rotation program in partnership with the Faculty Development Medical Director.
