About The Position

South Central Power Company, Ohio’s largest electric cooperative, has an immediate opening for a Manager of Billing and Rates at our Lancaster, Ohio location. The Manager of Billing and Rates is responsible for leading the Cooperative's billing operations and rate administration functions while driving accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement across billing processes. This role combines leadership, financial and operational analysis, strategic planning to ensure accurate billing, and support sound rate planning and financial decisions to enhance member satisfaction.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, accounting, economics, or a related field is required. Relevant experience in utility billing, rate administration, financial analysis, or customer service management may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of three years of utility or allied industry experience is required.
  • Supervisory/leadership experience required.
  • Ability to interpret utility rate schedules, analyze large data sets, reconcile complex reports, lead change initiatives, supervise and develop personnel, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with utility billing, rate implementation, cost-of-service or rate analysis, process improvement, and a customer information or billing system is preferred.
  • Experience with iVue or a similar customer information system (CIS), utility billing applications, and data analysis or reporting tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team focused on billing operations, rate administration, and exceptional member service.
  • Oversee accurate, timely billing and ensure members receive clear, easy-to-understand bills.
  • Drive process and technology improvements that enhance efficiency, billing accuracy, and the member experience.
  • Manage utility rate implementation, billing systems, and vendor partnerships.
  • Analyze billing, usage, and revenue data to support forecasting, financial planning, and strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate across departments to resolve complex billing issues, support operational initiatives, and maintain compliance with Cooperative policies and rate schedules.
