About The Position

The Manager of Annual Giving is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating strategies that grow annual philanthropic support. This position is supervised by the Chief Development Officer and oversees the annual fund, manages all appeal campaigns, and contributes to grant-writing efforts aligned with organizational priorities. The Manager of Annual Giving works closely with development leadership to strengthen donor engagement, expand the donor base, and ensure consistent revenue growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; relevant advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in fundraising, annual giving, or related development work.
  • Demonstrated success in managing giving programs or donor campaigns.
  • Strong written and verbal skills with experience in crafting appeals and grant proposals and communicating with donors.
  • Excellent project management abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and donor databases.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and inform strategy.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Commitment to the mission, values, and goals of the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Bloomerang is an advantage.
  • CFRE credential preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and evaluate the organization’s annual giving program, including donor segmentation, moves management, targeted outreach, and stewardship strategies.
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive annual fund strategy to meet defined revenue goals.
  • Lead the creation and production of all annual giving appeals, including direct mail, email campaigns, digital fundraising, and coordinated multi-channel outreach.
  • Analyze donor data to measure campaign effectiveness, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with communications staff to ensure consistent messaging, strong storytelling, and compelling donor-centered content.
  • Collaborate with Community Partnership & Volunteer Specialist and Marketing & Events Specialist to ensure meaningful volunteer/donor engagement.
  • Oversee donor stewardship for annual fund supporters, ensuring timely acknowledgments and meaningful engagement.
  • Research, write, and submit grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and government entities as assigned and in partnership with Leadership Team
  • Track grant deadlines, reporting requirements, and submission schedules to ensure compliance and timely delivery in partnership with Leadership Team
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor and prospect records in the CRM system.
  • Support donor cultivation activities, including events, meetings, and personalized outreach.
  • Partner with internal teams to identify funding needs and develop persuasive cases for support.
  • Coordinate donor recognition and acknowledgment processes.
  • Work with finance to reconcile gifts and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Monitor trends in philanthropy and annual giving to incorporate best practices into program strategies.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor. This could be broadened to greater stakeholders like partners
