About The Position

The Manager of Analytics and Prospect Management plays a critical role in advancing The Conservancy’s capital campaign and long-term fundraising initiatives. This role reports to the Chief Advancement Officer. The Manager of Analytics and Prospect Management position is funded by a dedicated four-year grant. At the conclusion of the grant period, as with all roles at the Conservancy, continuation is subject to Board budget approval, which takes place every financial year. This position leads the strategic use of data, prospect research, and portfolio management to optimize donor engagement and revenue growth. The Manager of Analytics and Prospect Management works closely with senior leadership, gift officers, and campaign volunteers to ensure that fundraising teams have the intelligence, tools, and insights needed to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major and principal gift prospects in alignment with organizational priorities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business, data analytics, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in prospect research, prospect management, or fundraising analytics; preferably in a capital campaign environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in database reporting and analytics (Blackbaud Altru or similar CRM).
  • Strong understanding of major gift fundraising principles, moves management, and campaign strategy.
  • Management experience; position has 2 direct reports.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Experience with wealth screening tools (e.g., iWave, WealthEngine, DonorSearch).
  • Ability to communicate complex data in a clear, actionable way to a variety of audiences.
  • High ethical standards and respect for confidentiality.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • AFP – member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of conservation/environmental issues.
  • Advanced Excel or business intelligence software skills (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Power Automate).
  • Previous work in a nonprofit with a campaign of $50 million+ preferred.
  • CFRE or ACFRE designation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a robust analytics program to track fundraising progress for the $70 million capital campaign, annual fund, planned giving, and general operating programs.
  • Build, run, and interpret advanced reports and dashboards in the donor database (e.g., Blackbaud’s Altru) to measure portfolio performance, campaign progress, and pipeline health.
  • Analyze donor giving trends, capacity ratings, and engagement patterns to inform prospect strategies.
  • Produce regular campaign performance summaries for leadership, board, and campaign committees.
  • Partner with frontline fundraisers to develop and maintain balanced and strategic portfolios for major, principal, and planned giving officers.
  • Facilitate regular portfolio review meetings, ensuring prospect movement through cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship stages.
  • Monitor portfolio activity and provide proactive recommendations for portfolio adjustments to meet revenue goals.
  • Track and manage solicitations, proposals, and moves management activity in alignment with campaign timelines.
  • Conduct in-depth research on individuals, foundations, and corporations using internal data, public records, wealth screening tools, and industry resources.
  • Prepare comprehensive donor profiles, briefings, and research summaries for leadership and gift officers prior to meetings and solicitations.
  • Identify new high-capacity prospects for leadership and volunteer engagement.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines for donor data usage.
  • Serve as a core member of the campaign operations team, providing data-driven insights to guide strategy.
  • Support campaign volunteer committees with targeted prospect lists, research, and briefing materials.
  • Collaborate with advancement services to ensure data integrity, accurate gift recording, and timely updates to donor records.
  • Partner with communications to track and evaluate donor touchpoints and campaign messaging impact.
